Insulted

Insults are a form of art. In order to make it work you have to make sure everything is just right - the timing, the situation, the target. When you master the art of insulting it can be very funny. But if you don't then you might end up offending someone.

I don't know if this makes sense but I liked being insulted. I feel like it's a way of showing your 'closeness' with someone. If it's a friend who insults me, it makes me feel like they feel close to me and so they know no matter what they say I'm not going to get mad at them.

The person who I find so funny when she insults people is JL. She doesn't go around in circles, she does it so directly that it's hilarious.

'Marie, you have nose hair stick out.'
'Marie, don't stand next to Vanessa because your face looks way too big next to hers.'
'Marie, you sound like a man.'
'Marie, you smell. Sometimes like chicken and sometimes like sweat.

Anyways that doesn't mean you should go around telling people off all day. As I've said it's an art. You have to make sure your target is the type of person to accept jokes and sometimes, the truth. I'm the type of person to get insulted and laugh along with everyone else and then forget about it. But I know there are some people who don't like insults. Even if they don't show it, they will remember it inside. I personally like it better if they just tell me I offended them instead of keeping it hidden.

I really like insulting people too. In fact I think I do it more often than when I get insulted myself. But the thing is, after I do it, I feel really guilty. Even though I'm very sure that person is not going to get angry, I just think 'What if?'. And sometimes I don't get the timing right and things become awkward. But most of the time it's pretty funny and we all have a good laugh.

Yeah so the point of this post is, if you are insulted by me all the time, please do keep in mind that it's all fun and games and it shows that I think of you as a close friend. Because you definitely won't see me going to a stranger and saying 'You are really tanned. I think you will blend in with my wall' (sorry JG!) And if you ever want to insult me or just want to tell me the truth, just do it. Because believe it or not, I'd really appreciate it.
